The Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) is the latest home video game console from Sony Computer Entertainment. Announced in February 2013, it was released in November of the same year and competes with Microsoft's Xbox One and Nintendo's Wii U and Switch as part of the eighth generation of video game consoles. The PS4 is the successor to the PlayStation 3 and is very similar in design to the Xbox One. It has a powerful central processing unit (CPU) and a graphics processing unit (GPU) that together provide incredible performance for gaming and other applications. The PS4 also comes with a built-in Blu-ray player, 1TB of storage, and a wireless controller.
